AI-Augmented Engineering
Every N90 engineer operates at the frontier — embedding directly with your team to ship production software at unprecedented speed using Claude Code, Codex, and frontier AI models.
Embedded Engineers
N90 engineers integrate directly into your workflows, tools, and codebases. Not outsourced. Not consulting from a distance. Working alongside your team with full context.
Claude Code + Codex at the Core
Every engineer operates with frontier AI as a native part of their workflow — not copy-pasting into ChatGPT, but deeply integrated into architecture, implementation, testing, and deployment.
10x Development Velocity
AI-augmented engineers ship 200+ lines of production code per day with tests, documentation, and deployment. Timelines that took months compress to weeks.
Knowledge Transfer
We build capability within your organisation, not dependency on ours. Your team learns AI-native practices through working alongside N90 engineers on real deliverables.
FAQ
Frequently asked
What is AI-augmented engineering?
AI-augmented engineering is software development where frontier AI models — primarily Claude Code in our practice — are integrated into every stage of work: architecture, implementation, testing, code review, and deployment. It's not copy-pasting into ChatGPT; it's redesigning the engineering workflow around what AI makes economically viable. The practical result is roughly 5–10x throughput on production-grade software, with tests, documentation, and observability included.
How is this different from a traditional dev shop or staff augmentation?
A traditional team measures velocity in story points per sprint. We measure it in shipped, monitored production features per week. Because each N90 engineer ships 10x the lines of production code per day — with tests and deployment — engagements that conventional firms quote as multi-month builds typically compress to weeks. We also embed inside your codebase and tools rather than throwing deliverables over the wall.
How do you charge — fixed price, time-and-materials, or retainer?
We default to outcome-priced engagements: we agree the business outcome (revenue unlocked, system shipped, time saved) and the price for delivering it. For ongoing partnerships we offer monthly retainers with a defined throughput commitment. We avoid pure time-and-materials because it rewards slow work and we ship fast.
Do we need to share our codebase and tooling?
Yes — we work inside your repository, your CI, your environments. We require read-write access to the codebase, the ability to open PRs, and access to the relevant Slack or messaging channels. We can sign your DPA and NDAs, and we're happy to scope access narrowly (read-only for the first sprint, branch-protected repos, etc.) until trust is established.
What does a typical first engagement look like?
Most engagements start with a 1–2 week 'show, don't tell' sprint. We pick one tightly-scoped, high-value problem from your backlog, ship it end-to-end (code, tests, monitoring, deployed), and use that as the basis for deciding whether to scale up. This is dramatically cheaper than a multi-week discovery phase and gives both sides real evidence rather than slides.
Will we become dependent on N90 forever?
No, and we actively design against that. We work in your codebase using your conventions, document architectural decisions as we go, and pair with your engineers so the practices transfer. Many engagements end with your team running the AI-native workflow themselves and us on retainer for the harder problems.
